The Thornhill Reds went a pedestrian 2-2 over the long weekend in Windsor at the 2018 Provincial Elimination tournament.
The Reds collected wins against the Windsor A's and East York Bulldogs, while falling to Brampton and Nationals representative Ilderton. One of few bright spots for Thornhill was the weekend Reds 1B Gianfranco Morello put together. He hammered three home runs over the four games, including two against the Bulldogs which raised his team lead to 9. Overall he went 6-13 (.462), scoring 5 runs and driving in 6.
The Reds will look to clinch first place in the GTBL over the next ten days, and the GTBL playoff tournament is set for August 24-26 at Concord Regional.
