The Reds rookie lefty worked five strong innings, allowing just an unearned run, while striking out two. The bullpen struggled late, with Ben Brown(0-1) suffering the loss in an inning plus of work.
Kravice Batts had three hits in the loss, and Gianfranco Morello continued a blazing hot start with a 2-3 effort.
